Students looked at a variety of different kinds of architecture, from castles to cities and suburban houses, to get inspired to make some amazing paper houses. Here are a few photos of students in-action in the art room!
Reggie Laurent Inspired Shape Collages
Students wanted to practice reducing their waste in art class, so we decided to reuse some paper scraps from our house projects! To get inspired, we looked at the exciting paper collages by American artist, Reggie Laurent. How fun!

Students explored watercolor paints to create these warm and cool colored leaves -- Neat!
Miriam Schapiro Inspired Fans
Students learned about the American Artist, Miriam Schapiro, and her work with creating large-scale paintings in the shape of fans as homage to the women who have worked to create a variety of useful, beautiful things the world of crafting.
Students used a variety of lines to decorate these awesome fans. How many different kinds of lines can YOU find? Zig-zags, wavy, thick and thin lines, diagonal, horizontal, and vertical lines, spirals, bouncy lines, fancy-free lines, and so many more! Wow!
